How do I take the exam again to renew my certification?
Special announcement regarding retesting for the woodburning certificate in 2011
You have two options for renewing by re-testing:
- Purchase the exam directly from NFI and take the computerized exam at a LaserGrade Testing Center
- You can sign up directly with an industry sponsored event.
Option 1: Computerized Exam
Testing at a LaserGrade Center can be done at a special reduced rate since you are renewing your certification. LaserGrade testing offers you the chance to find a location near you and test at your convenience. However, a review course is not offered, so self-study is even more important. If you choose this route, don’t forget to send NFI a new picture for your NFI ID Card.
Fee: $289 for a manual and exam package
Option 2: Industry Sponsored Exam
Industry sponsored exams are offered at a large number of locations each year by HPBA affiliates, manufacturers, industry trainers, and other specialty groups. While self-study is still critical, these sponsored events are usually done with a full day training program and are a great way to enhance your learning experience.
